Where It All Started…

A.Y.M (All Your Might)
“Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10

My love for CrossFit began in 2013 when I joined a CrossFit gym in Lexington, SC. I had been a college baseball player at Emmanuel College where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Being a college athlete, I was used to being a part of a team while competing with my teammates and pushing one another to be the best we could. I was lacking that sense of community while I was working out independently. After my first workout, however, I realized it was exactly what I had been missing.

In 2014, my wife and I relocated back to our home town of Laurinburg, NC where the closest CrossFit gym was forty minutes away. We decided to buy a small package of Rogue equipment and get creative with what we had. Our training began at what we called Storage Fitness due to it being in a family member’s storage unit. The equipment, five members, and a deep desire to coach others to success is how it all officially began. We worked hard each day to achieve our goals and build relationships with every person who joined us. However, we were quickly growing and running out of space. In March 2016, we moved locations going from 600 sq. ft. of functional fitness equipment to over 4,000 and changed our name to AYM Fitness. AYM stands for all your might, which is from Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.” I have a passion for sharing my faith with others, so this name was fitting for my vision in creating a gym. I also obtained my Level 1 CrossFit Training certificate in 2016, which helped me further grow and develop my love for this sport.

Fast forward to today and we have added new equipment, new members, and additional coaches. We have grown into a large community who encourage one another to reach goals, overcome obstacles, drive out fear, and get stronger physically and mentally. My love for coaching, training, and programming continues to grow as I watch members succeed every day and I am beyond grateful to each member who trusts me with that responsibility.

If you are looking for a safe environment and encouraging atmosphere to make a lifestyle change, lose weight, or get stronger then I encourage you to stop by and give us a try. We welcome people of all fitness levels to see the awesome family we have built at AYM CrossFit.
